Carole Anne
Tkacz
September 29, 1956 – April 23, 2026
Carole Anne (Jones) Tkacz, 69, passed away after a difficult battle with pancreatic
cancer on April 23, 2026. Born September 29, 1956, in Ithaca, NY, Carole made
Syracuse her home before recently relocating to Fulton.
Carole dedicated many years of her life to caring for others as a Licensed Practical
Nurse. She started her career at Van Duyn before taking her skills and compassion to
Crouse Hospital. After an injury kept her from work for several years, she returned to
nursing at Bishop Rehabilitation & Nursing Center, where she touched the lives of
countless patients and colleagues alike. To those in her care, she was steadfast and kind
— a steady hand and a warm presence during some of their most vulnerable moments.
Every summer, Carole came alive in the great outdoors. Whether she was gathered
around a crackling campfire under a canopy of stars or waking up to birdsong and the
smell of pine, the wilderness was her sanctuary. She loved her time at Brennan’s Beach
and the family who came out to share it with her.
Her love of reading was lifelong and boundless — a good book was never far from her
hands. And while she could lose herself in any story, she had a particular fondness for
mysteries and things that went bump in the night.
Carole was not simply a mother — she was a ringleader, a storyteller, and an
irreplaceable force of nature. She leaves behind a family who are braver, bolder, and a
little more willing to listen to oldies music or watch a scary movie because of her.
She is survived by her husband, William Graham; her son, Robert Tkacz; her daughters,
Marleah Tkacz-Jimenez, Vera Tkacz, and Shelby (Graham) White; and six cherished
grandchildren who will forever carry her adventurous spirit, her love of a good story,
and her fearless joy for life.
A life well-read, well-screamed, and well-loved.
There will be no formal
services. A celebration of life will be held later this year, where family and friends are
invited to gather, share stories, and honor Carole in the spirited and joyful way she so
deserved. In place of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Pancreatic
Cancer Action Network (PanCAN) so that the fight against this devastating disease may end.
