Donna Joy Zahn, 91 of Mattydale New York, passed away after a long battle with dementia on Monday February 9 2026 at home with her son and daughter by her side.

Born in Fulton on July 14 1934, to the late Clement and Kathryn (Growe) Bigwarfe, Donna was predeceased by her beloved husband of 53 years, Carroll Robert Zahn, and sister Patricia Staring. A graduate of the Phoenix High School, Donna enjoyed cooking, quilting, treasure hunting at garage sales and making a comfortable and loving home for her husband, and 3 children.

She is survived by her sister, Marlene Nelson; brother Jack (Sharon) Bigwarfe; son, Michael Zahn (Rhonda); son Thomas Zahn (Michael McGuirl); daughter Kelly Bogart, grandchildren Aubree (Dale), Sarah, Lauren, Zachary and Dawna (Austin); and great-grandchildren Jalen, Nicolas, Cooper, Sierra, Wiley, Truett, and Wyatt. It was Mom’s wish to remain home throughout her illness. Her loving daughter, Kelly, tirelessly made that happen. There will be no services. To celebrate her memory, donations may be made "In Memory of Donna Zahn" to the charity of your choice.
