In Loving Memory of Joan C. Pearson

Joan devoted much of her life to her family, who meant everything to her.

Joan C. Pearson, 66, of Parishville, NY, passed away peacefully on August 30, 2026. She was born on October 4, 1959, in Potsdam, NY, and was born and raised there before making her home in Parishville. Those closest to her knew her as Sue.

Joan married the love of her life, David Pearson, on May 11, 2001. She devoted much of her life to her family, who meant everything to her.

She is survived by her husband, David Pearson; her children, Andrew (Carrie) Perkins, Aaron (Lydia) Perkins, Ashley (Zephaniah) Perkins, and Justin (Jenna) Pearson; her grandchildren, Nate (Cheyne), Morgan, Trinity, Taylor, Kaylee, and Brooke; her great-grandchildren, Sonder and Waylon; her siblings, Wales Perkins and Shawn Streeter; her mother, Patricia Perkins; and her nephew, Colby Perkins.

Joan was predeceased by her father, Wales Perkins.

Joan retired from SUNY Potsdam, where she worked for many years. Outside of work, she found her greatest happiness in spending time with her family. She loved hunting, fishing, and going to the races. She had a special love for animals and absolutely loved the New York Yankees.

Above all, Joan will be remembered for the love she had for her family.

Christmas was especially meaningful to Joan. She absolutely loved the Christmas season and always made it the most magical time of the year for her family, creating memories and traditions they will cherish forever.

Above all, Joan will be remembered for the love she had for her family, the memories she created with them, and the lasting impact she had on everyone who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at the Parishville Fire Hall, Parishville, NY. Family and friends are welcome to come together to celebrate Joan’s life and share memories of a woman who meant so much to so many.
