Obituary

Robert William Tarbell Parish, of Syracuse, New York, passed away unexpectedly on May 25th 2026. Born and raised in Penn Yan, New York, Robert was known for his intelligence, kindness, humor, and unwavering willingness to help others. He was the kind of man who would give anyone the shirt off his back without hesitation.

Robert was a hardworking man who dedicated himself to providing for and caring for those he loved. He had a quick wit and was especially known for his endless dad jokes that could make anyone laugh, even at the most unexpected moments. Above all else, Robert deeply loved his children and family, who were the center of his world.

Robert was also actively involved in Alcoholics Anonymous, where he found strength, fellowship, and purpose in helping others along their journeys. His compassion, honesty, and encouragement touched many lives within the recovery community.

He was predeceased by his father, Robert William Parish, Sr., and by his beloved grandparents.

Robert is survived by his loving wife, Kayla Tarbell Parish; his stepchildren, Caedyn, Owen, and Lydia; and his children, Saralyn, Emily, William, and Braelyn Parish. He is also survived by his mother, Katherne Parish; his brother, Brandon (Misha) Parish; his sisters, Chantel Parish and Ellen (Dec) Edwards-Benson; the mothers of his children, Angel and Jessica; as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.

Robert’s memory will live on through the countless lives he touched with his generosity, humor, and love.
