Sue
James
Nov 9, 1967 — Nov 1, 2026
Marcellus
Sue was a gentle soul who found happiness in her family and the simple pleasures of life.
Sue James, 58, of Marcellus, New York, passed away on November 1, 2026, after a battle with breast cancer.
Born on November 9, 1967, and raised in Marietta, New York, Sue was a gentle soul who found happiness in her family and the simple pleasures of life. Young at heart and creative by nature, she had a special appreciation for life's treasures.
Sue loved spending time on Otisco Lake with her Aunt Diane and Uncle Pat, searching for sea glass and shells, and capturing special moments on her phone. She enjoyed exploring garage sales and thrift shops, always on the lookout for a unique find or something she could turn into a creative project. She had a love for cats and a talent for baking, especially the delicious desserts that family and friends will always remember.
One of the most meaningful parts of Sue's life was her work as a nanny. She adored the children she cared for and developed special connections with each of them. They were never simply children she watched; they became a treasured part of her life. Caring for them brought her tremendous happiness and allowed her youthful spirit to shine.
From peaceful days by the lake to the treasures she collected and the children she loved, Sue created a world filled with the things that made her happiest.
Sue is survived by her beloved son, Josh Wilkinson; her mother, Bonnie James; her father, Alex James; her brothers, Sean (Rena) James and Matt James; her nieces, Lila and Vada; and her aunt and uncle, Diane and Pat Hill. She also leaves behind friends and the many children and families who held a special place in her heart.
Sue will be remembered for her youthful spirit, her creativity, and her ability to find joy in all things. From peaceful days by the lake to the treasures she collected and the children she loved, Sue created a world filled with the things that made her happiest.
She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
A private celebration of Sue's life will be held with family and close friends. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Sue's memory may make a donation to Francis House in Syracuse, New York, at www.francishouseny.org
