William Trach Jr., 86, of Baldwinsville, NY, passed away peacefully in his sleep, surrounded by loved ones, on April 14, 2026. He was a cherished father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and will be deeply missed.

Bill was born in Syracuse on July 6, 1939. After a stint in the United States Air Force, Bill returned to Syracuse and married Marilyn (Johnson), and they settled in Baldwinsville, raising six loving children. Bill spent well over 30 years as a machine operator at New Process Gear and a proud member of the United Auto Workers. He was the hardest working man we knew; always showed up to work early, took every extra shift he could, and always did so with great pride. He taught us all that hard work and sacrifice, to give your family a better life than you had, is the true path to building a loving, meaningful life. He also passed on to us the legendary Trach gift of gab, the corny jokes often repeated that somehow never get old, and the love of card games where the lively conversation was always more important than who won. Bill was predeceased by his wife Marilyn; his son Mark Trach; his parents William and Frances Trach; his sisters Rosemary Trach, Harriet Stella Bonfe, and Suzanne Mendoza; and his brothers Walter Trach and John Trach. He is deeply missed by so many, including his children Kimberly Hingley, Tamara Trach, Brett Trach, BJ Trach, Becky Trach, sisters Katherine Trach and Barbara Lucia, and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family. The legacy of his hard work, his sacrifice, and his example is ever-present in the love that his children, grandchildren, and extended family and friends will forever have for him. The family had a private ceremony in Bill's honor.
